Young Sea Staff

Each year we select 10 young people who have what it takes to be one of our skippers and we invite them to join our Young Sea Staff programme.
These people are nominated by our skippers as those with the greatest potential. Nominations can be for anything, for example; leadership, resilience, improvement over the week, or just helping everyone else have a good time!
Those people receive a heavily subsidised training programme, including:
• A half term voyage to gain their RYA Watch Leader certificate.
• Support towards qualifications such as first aid and powerboat driving.
• The opportunity to sail in a tall ships race to experience the very best of what sail training has to offer.
• Involvement in our annual training day, learning alongside our qualified and experienced sea staff.
